Harry Potter is primarily an existential story, in both the literal and philosophical senses. And like older versions of the fairy tale genre, this is not just for children. ![]() Rowling's fantasy world is as meaningful as any found in the tales that have burned their way into our cultural memory. However, once I had fully entered the world of Hogwarts, I realized that an easy exposition was out of the question. The initial plan seemed simple enough: Read these supposed "children's novels" and decipher their overall depiction of nature and the environment. Rowling's massively popular wizard books in rapid succession. So, I decided to see what all the fuss was about, not just by picking up a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but by reading all seven of J.K.
